Intro

   Italy is know to be one of the most vulnerable countries when it comes to earthquakes. This is due to the country being on top of two fault lines, the North South fault and the East West faults. Italy already having to fault they have to the with being in the middle of two tectonic plates which are the African and Eurasian Plates. Their plate is know as the Adria microplate which is next to the other plates I mentioned. Italy is constantly pulled and pushed by these two plates and it is the reason for their many earthquakes and deaths over the years. I believe that they are very close to their tectonic plate boundary because of the research I have done and the maps that are shown in the websites I have seen. This a convergent boundary; a convergent boundary is when neither plate is not sinking into the asthenosphere because they are not dense enough  it will lead to a compression as a result. Which lead to major earthquakes.       ...

There are differences between all three and what effects the can cause to all living life. A hazard are more commonly produced by earthquakes, floods and tornados, they cause potential damage to property and harm to human life. A disaster is a hazard that affects more than 100 people or kills more than 10 people and is specific to one area. It is also a disaster if the state declares a state of emergency. For catastrophe is a bigger disaster that would take longer to rebuild and a lot of money to fix and affects many people, such catastrophes like Pompeii, Italy.

Hi, my is Andrew Pineda and this is my second semester at MPC. I'm looking forward to this class, it looks interesting. A little bit about myself, I'm a cook in Carmel, Ca and I'm a business major. I'm currently full time both at work and school. I choose my country as Italy because of how old the country is in terms of civilization and culture, and yesterday I watched the movie Pompeii which goes with this class.
